Henri de Talleyrand-Périgord, comte de Chalais (1599–1626) was a favorite of Louis XIII.

He was born in 1599 as son to Daniel de Talleyrand-Périgord, Prince de Chalais and Françoise de Montluc, daughter of Maréchal de Montluc. He started to serve in the military early in his life. He was at the Siege of Montauban in 1621. He became Head of the King's Wardrobe to King Louis XIII.

He married Charlotte de Castille and fought and killed her lover in a duel.

He was accused of conspiracy against Cardinal Richelieu, arrested at Nantes, and beheaded by an unskilled axeman who took over 30 blows to sever the head.

Charles de l'Aubespine, marquess of Châteauneuf (22 February 1580 – 26 September 1653) was a French diplomat and government official.

The marquess of Châteauneuf was the grandson of Claude de l'Aubespine, baron of Châteauneuf. He was made an abbé. He was the French ambassador to Holland (1609), to the Habsburg Netherlands (1611–1616), to the Valtellina (1626), and to England (1629–1630).

He then served as the Keeper of the Seals (minister of justice) from 1630, when he replaced Michel de Marillac, until 1633. During that time he was a member of the extraordinary commission that condemned to death the marshal Louis de Marillac and Henri, Duke of Montmorency. He conspired with the Duchess of Chevreuse against Cardinal Richelieu (1633), and was deprived of his office and imprisoned in the castle of Angoulême where he stayed for ten years.

Released at the death of Louis XIII, he conspired again against Cardinal Mazarin in the cabale des Importants, 1643. He was appointed again as Keeper of the Seals from 1650 to 1651.

He died at his chateau in Leuville-sur-Orge (Essonne department) in 1653.

Alexandre de Campion (Rouen, 1610 - Vert-en-Drouais, 28 février 1668) est un écrivain français.

Frère d'Henri de Campion (1613-1663), il fut attaché à César de Vendôme qu'il quitte pour le duc de Longueville. Un temps l'amant de la duchesse de Chevreuse, qui le « donne » à la reine, très intrigant. Il fut un proche de l'évêque de Beauvais, Potier de Blancmesnil. Alexandre de Campion, avec son frère Henri, a trempé dans le complot de la Cabale des Importants tendant à faire assassiner Mazarin, en 1643. Ce projet est remis à quatre reprises et se heurte autant à l'infortune qu'au manque de détermination de ses instigateurs. À la suite de cette cabale, Alexandre de Campion est contraint de suivre les duchesses de Chevreuse et de Montbazon dans leur exil. Beaufort croira durablement, après sa prison, avoir été trahi par Alexandre.

C'est un poète et un diplomate français, ami de Corneille. Il est l'auteur d'un Recueil de lettres qui peuvent servir à l'histoire et diverses poésies dédié à la comtesse de Fiesque.
