ใครออกเดทกับ เวอร์จิเนีย วูล์ฟ?

เวอร์จิเนีย วูล์ฟ (อังกฤษ: Virginia Woolf (ชื่อเดิม Adeline Virginia Stephen)) (25 มกราคม ค.ศ. 1882 - 28 มีนาคม ค.ศ. 1941) เป็นนักเขียนนวนิยาย, เรื่องสั้น และ บทความ, นักพิมพ์ และผู้สนับสนุนสิทธิสตรี (feminist) ชาวอังกฤษคนสำคัญ วูล์ฟถือกันว่าเป็นนักเขียนผู้มีบทบาทสำคัญของวรรณกรรมสมัยใหม่นิยมของคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 20 คนหนึ่ง และเป็นผู้ริเริ่มใช้แนววิธีการเขียนตามกระแสสำนึก(stream of consciousness)ในการเล่าเรื่อง

ระหว่างสมัยสองสงครามโลก วูล์ฟเป็นผู้มีบทบาทสำคัญในวงการวรรณกรรมของลอนดอนและเป็นสมาชิกคนหนึ่งของ “กลุ่มบลูมสบรี” (Bloomsbury group) ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มนักเขียน, ปัญญาชน และศิลปินที่ก่อตัวขึ้นอย่างไม่เป็นทางการ

งานชิ้นสำคัญ ๆ ของวูล์ฟก็ได้แก่นวนิยาย “Mrs Dalloway” (ค.ศ. 1925), “To the Lighthouse” (ค.ศ. 1927) และ “Orlando: A Biography” (ค.ศ. 1928) และบทความขนาดหนังสือ “A Room of One's Own” (ค.ศ. 1929) ที่มีประโยคที่เป็นที่รู้จักว่า “ผู้หญิงต้องมีเงินและห้องที่เป็นของตนเองถ้าจะเขียนนวนิยาย”

Victoria Mary, Lady Nicolson, CH (née Sackville-West; 9 March 1892 – 2 June 1962), usually known as Vita Sackville-West, was an English author and garden designer.

Sackville-West was a successful novelist, poet and journalist, as well as a prolific letter writer and diarist. She published more than a dozen collections of poetry and 13 novels during her life. She was twice awarded the Hawthornden Prize for Imaginative Literature: in 1927 for her pastoral epic, The Land, and in 1933 for her Collected Poems. She was the inspiration for the protagonist of Orlando: A Biography, by her friend and lover Virginia Woolf.

She wrote a column in The Observer from 1946 to 1961 and is remembered for the celebrated garden at Sissinghurst in Kent, created with her husband, Sir Harold Nicolson.
